Modules
Our script modules are small applications that can easily be included in our PHP scripts. Modules are supported by Comment Script, Disposable E-mail, Guestbook Script, News Script, and Short URL.
Affiliate Links
The module "Affiliate Links" converts normal URLs into affiliate URLs. If you use it with our Short URL Script, it attaches an affiliate parameter to a URL and then redirects the user to that URL. In the Guestbook Script and the Comment Script it converts all URLs that have been posted in comments and displays those affiliate URLs on your website.
The module "eBay Affiliate Links" converts normal URLs into eBay affiliate URLs. If you use it with our Short URL Script, it attaches an affiliate parameter to a URL and then redirects the user to that URL. In the Guestbook Script and the Comment Script it converts all URLs that have been posted in comments and displays those affiliate URLs on your website.
The module "Text Link Ads" creates an interface to text-link-ads.com. With the help from text-link-ads.com you can sell link space on your website. This module allows you to manage those links.
Once installed the script is immediately ready to use.
Step 1
Connect to your web server using an FTP program. If you want to install the script in a sub-folder, you need to create one on your server, e.g. /shorturl/
Step 2
All text files have to be uploaded in text mode (ASCII mode) and all binary files (like images or PDF files) have to be uploaded in binary mode. The simplest would be to set the mode to "auto". This way your FTP program takes care about the correct transfer mode.
Please make sure that your FTP program preserves the file names and doesn't lower case them.
Step 3
Most, if not all, FTP programs allow you to change the file permissions. That can either be done with a command line and the command chmod or with some clicks on menus and checkboxes.

Call the admin area of the script in your browser:

You are now seeing the installation screen of the script. Please make sure you have the database access data. You need following four items:
Database hostname
Database name
Database user name
Database password
You either get those data from your web space control panel or ask your web space provider about them.
Choose a prefix for the database tables. Default value is s6l_ and there is actually no need to change that unless you want to have more than one installation of the script side by side.
Enter the information for the admin account you want to create and use once the script is working.
Click the button Install Now. In case the installation was successful, you will be provided with a link to the login screen where you can use the account data you just entered

Once the installation is finished, you can change the folder permissions of the script folder back. But ONLY for the script folder. The folder /cache/ has be remain writable.
